Arnold Tunaley - Nixa, MO - 3/9/08
Last week I joined thousands of other motorcyclists enjoying the
sunshine and warmth of our early spring day. All went well until 16
miles from home--when my engine died. After a call to your
dispatcher, who sent Blue Monkey Towing from Sparta, MO arriving with
a flatbed. My sidecar outfit was winched on board, and it, myself and
my wife were taken home. The driver was careful, competent and
cheerful--so the day ended fairly well (though not as I had planned!)
It's been too cold since then to determine the cause of the failure.
THANK YOU for your help; it's a comfort to know that MIS is there!

John Kerechek - Brentwood, TN - 9/21/06
I used your service last night as my 2004 BMW stopped dead just outside Lewisburg, TN. Your service rep had a tow truck meet up with me in about an hour. The towing company was great. They took the bike to the BMW dealer in Nashville. Sure am glad you were there when I needed you! Many thanks, John

Myra Cohen - Long Beach, NY - 8/4/2006
I've been a customer of yours for many years, and yesterday was the first time I actually had to avail myself to your services. My motorcycle had a flat front tire (luckily not while I was riding). I spoke to Casey, your dispacher, who was incredibly friendly and knowledgable. I work in Manhattan (which is about 90 minutes from my home), and I needed to find a way to have my bike towed and still make it to work on time, which meant I needed it picked up by 7:00 AM today. In the back of my mind, while hopeful, I thought it was unlikely that Casey could find anyone to help me at that hour of the day. He said MTS tries to accommodate its customers, and the he did just that. I was hoping for a miracle and then it happened.

Not more than one hour after I spoke with Casey, I received a call from Valerie Figerella, the founder of MotorGirl LLC, located at 117 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she runs the first all-female bike shop. Valerie was extremely understanding, accomodating and professional. She offered to have the tow truck at my apartment by 7:00 AM this morning which was about an hour away from her shop. Of course, being a New Yorker, and taking into consideration that this was my first experience with MTS and MotorGirl, I was a bit skeptical but at the same time tried to be optimistic.

At 7:00 AM this morning, there they were, Valerie and Marcus, like angels, ready and waiting to tow my bike. They were both cheery and friendly, dressed in clean overalls and worked efficiently to load up my bike. I felt immediately comfortable with them, confident in their ability to safely transport my motorcycle, and it arrived unscathed at the repair shop. While I was concerned that I would be late for work, I actually arrived 30 minutes early! If MotorGirl is an example of the type of companies you contract., I am very impressed. I would highly recommend them. They were prompt, reliable and absolutely wonderful.

I had a very stress-free and pleasant experience with MTS and MotorGirl that left a big smile on my face. I love to ride, but as a single woman living alone who is not at all mechanically inclined, it is very comforting to know that I have the MTS and MotorGirl teams behind me. At a very reasonable rate for MTS membership, you have given me piece of mind and that is absolutely priceless! Thank you.

April 2006MTS Dispatchers Know their Business
MTS has a fantastic set-up. There's no putting you on long holds. They always send the right equipment - flatbeds or special set-ups. The dispatchers have a little knowledge of bikes and sometimes they can diagnose over the phone and get the person going. Their rates are fantastic and they are timely on their payments for us.

Michael Benson - Cary, NC - 4/23/05
I've seen advertisements by the "big" companies, and always wondered if MTS would be there when I needed them. Well, my doubts are now gone. Service and responsiveness were outstanding. My only regret is that I didn't call for help sooner. After I called, I stopped feeling alone. Many thanks.

Brett "Traveler" Chambers - Crossett, AR - 5/23/05
MTS people were very helpful. I tried very hard to find a close tow operator and the one they found was very good, polite and knew his job. I recommended him to MTS. Like I said on the front, the MTS operators were very polite and very good at keeping us updated on what was going on. I don't get impressed very often by service of companies, but I was impressed by 2 at the same time. I'm glad I have MTS, and especially glad they did their job so well.
Wayne Sankey - La Quinta, CA - 5/9/05
I am a member of the Triumph Riders Club. Thank you and your staff for helping me while stranded on the 10 freeway. I was with my down syndrome son when I broke down with a broken throttle lineage. This mechanical failure should never happened, but thanks to you and your staff, we were rescued.
Fred Clark - 1/20/05
Everything on the side of MTS was excellent, Casey is a great asset to your team. The towing company (Budget Tow) was very courteous and professional once they got there Budget took a little more that 2 hours to get to me. But once they got there, everything was great. Once again, I give high praises to Casey and your company for providing a great service to motorcyclist. I have and will continue to recommend your service to all motorcyclist I possibly can.
John Koestner - 11/28/04
I joined MTS last year relying on the Murphy’s Law principle of, “If you have it, you won’t need it, but if you don’t have it…well you know the rest. Last week my 2000 Roadstar developed a short and refused to start. Fortunately this occurred in my own driveway. I phoned my dealer who said he would pick it up and then phoned MTS. I couldn’t have been treated better by my own mother. Arrangements were quickly made to reimburse the dealer for the pickup charge and I’ll have the bike back shortly. I will certainly renew when my policy is up. It’s a great service.
Wayne Crannell - Sherman, Texas - 11/11/04
Had a flat today at 65 mph, 11 September 2004. The dealer didn’t tighten the valve nuts down on my brand new tire. At least that’s the preliminary diagnosis. Not a blow out but it was acting strange for about 10 miles and then it went down pretty fast. I sprang for Motorcycle Touring Services (in Las Vegas) this summer for my 2500 mile trip but never needed them. Well today, 10 miles from home on a Saturday night, I called them. No questions asked, they found me a tow and my bike sits safe but sick in my garage. Even the tow company said they were one of the best Motorcycle clubs they’ve been associated with. And no, I don’t work for them, but I just thought they deserved some free PR considering the cost of the tow to them was a lot more than the membership fee I paid, and they came through smiling and professionally. Thank you for signing me up today, and THANK YOU for the second year free! Very much appreciated.

The towing firm that recommended your company as the best was "Night Owl Towing", I believe out of Albany, NY. Their reasoning was simple: you pay fast, and fast payers get the best service. He also said you're fussy about who can tow your customers. This must be true, because this guy came 50 miles from Albany to western Mass to tow my brother-in-law's bike just 10 miles up the road. I know there are a fair amount of towing companies in our area, but evidently none that had the expertise to do the job to your satisfaction.

Looking forward to never needing your services!

Thelma Rhodes - Wichita, Kansas
My friend Iris saw your ad and sent for info. We read it over and decided we could not be without it. When I left for the Women On Wheels Motorcycle Rally, I felt sure I would not have any motorcycle problems. WRONG!! But, I had your MTS emergency card in my purse so I rode with peace of mind. Both times I required your help, you and the towing venders, as well as the motorcycle shops were very courteous, very professional, and very prompt to help me.

When my battery went dead fifty miles from nowhere, Moody Towing was there in less than 45 minutes, and took me to Topeka. Right away they put a new battery in and checked to see if that was the only problem. I was back on the road in a very short time. The next day I had a problem with the cam chain tensioner - it sounded like a rod going out. Iris and I arrived and Merricmac, Wisconsin in time for the Rally and returned home without any more problems.

Gene, thanks again - you certainly can be proud of the caliber of people , and the quality of service they put out. It's certainly reassuring to me. MTS is a wonderful organization that really works like you say.

When I joined Motorcycle Touring Service, I figured it would be a long time before I would need you. However, approximately one month later, I found myself on the shoulder of the road about 10 miles east of Las Cruces, New Mexico at 8 am. After about one hour a couple stopped and I asked them to call the 800 number when they found a phone.

A short time later a truck with a tilt bed and winch arrived. He was very professional and was very cautious in the handling of my bike and trailer, everything worked perfectly.

I hope I never need the service again, but it is a great feeling to know I belong to a service that will be there when I need it.

Ray Hale - Florida
Last Sunday, February 5th, my 12 year old son and I were out riding on a beautiful Florida afternoon. We had just pulled up to the gas pump at an old abandoned grocery store in Otter Creek to take some photos when we heard that sickening sound of a tire losing it's air. The rear went flat while we watched.

At first I was really perturbed. My wife wasn't home and it was going to be tricky finding someone to come get us around lunch time on a Sunday. We were about twenty miles from Cedar Key on the Gulf of Mexico. There's not much around here during the week but on a Sunday it is REALLY quiet.

Then I remembered I had joined MTS! It was time to put this card to the test. I called the 800 number and got Casey on the line. This person was very friendly and didn't even give me a chance to get worried or excited or angry, all things I thought might happen when and if I didn't receive satisfaction. It was superb customer service all the way. Casey asked me what I wanted. Now there's a novel question for a customer! And then explained what MTS could do for me. It was great! Everything happened just as it was promised; the towing company (Shelby's Towing in Gainesville, Florida) showed up with a flatbed, good straps, good attitude, and I got the bike to the Moto Guzzi Dealer that afternoon. The dealer, Stan's Moto Guzzi/BMW, came by on a Sunday and locked it up for me. It just couldn't have gone any better, unless the tow truck driver had brought my son and I Big Macs, fries, and a Coke, but then I didn't ask. Who knows?

So, thanks for doing what you said you'd do and doing it so well. You've picked a good towing company in the area, too. They're the best and really care about bikers. I've told all my riding buddies about MTS, written a short blurb in the Moto Guzzi Newsletter about this experience, and posted your information on the euro-moto internet group. Sign 'em up.

So many kudos need to go out that I don't know where to begin. First, to the lady that I spoke to on the phone, I want to say thank you. My wife and I never felt alone. I am sorry I don't remember her name, but your professionalism was appreciated. It was getting dark on that lonely mountain road when the smiling face of our tow driver arrived. I would like to thank him. I know for a fact that at least 5 of my friends have signed up with MTS since I joined, all on my recommendation.
After your help, I know many more of my associates will be receiving my recommendation to join MTS.

Richard Strickland - New Mexico, MTS #13713
Never fear! If you break down in the middle of nowhere, MTS is there. No if's, and's or but's.

Thanksgiving weekend my girlfriend and I were taking the scenic road home from Silver City, New Mexico. Near the wide spot in the road called Rodeo, Mexico, near the I-10 and Douglas, Arizona, with the wind and dust blowing 40 mph, my BMW R100 GS just quit. The battery was dead.

The nearest BMW service was in Deming, NM 100 miles Northeast. The breakdown occurred at 12:30pm on a Saturday.

A toll free call to MTS resulted in Eric, from the Deming Cycle Center, hooking up the shop's trailer and driving the 100 miles to rescue us.

The trip back to Deming went quickly because of Eric's good company, his wife and 5 year old child came along for the ride and we had lots to talk about. We all made new friends. We arrived about 4:30pm and even though the dealership was closed for the remainder of the weekend, Jeff, the manager and Rex, the BMW mechanic were waiting for us. The bike was unloaded, the problem was quickly diagnosed by a truly talented Rex as an alternator rotor failure, quickly repaired with parts in stock and we were on our way.

We had a little bad luck that day, but we also had a lot of good fortune. MTS and the fine people at Deming Cycle Center were there 100% for us when we badly needed it. Plus, the BMW was still under warranty.

I honestly did not know what to expect when I pulled the red MTS card out of my wallet. I found out that being an MTS member is the best deal in all of motorcycling. I also found a truly outstanding dealership (Honda-Yamaha-Moto Guzzi BMW) the Deming Cycle Center (800-626-3338). When I am ready for a new motorcycle you can bet I'm going to Deming.

Marylou is the greatest. Send me her address so that I may send her a box of candy. The tow came from 95 miles away and they even fixed my tire at midnight and saved my trip. I read all those comments in your brochure and figured that maybe just maybe, since I ride a couple of Harleys, I may need your services but I did not really think you would be of any real use to me, Boy!

When you ride a bike and you are away from home, you need all the help you can get. And you guys helped me in a big way. Marylou went out of her way to take care of me. I never really believed all those "Sugar Sweet" letters to the company I see, but I know you guys are for real. Thank you for being there when I needed you. I am going on a 6 week trip this summer and having you guys there makes me feel a whole lot better, because now I know you are for real!
Thank you for being there.

Jim Swinfard, Washington
Dear MTS, (and especially the very competent and friendly ladies who answer the emergency phone.)

Having recently experienced the need to avail myself of your service, I can, without a hesitation, recommend your service to anyone who rides.

If the good ladies have not already told of my embarrassment around the office, I shall share it now.

Once upon a time in a very rural part of Washington State, I found myself with a motorcycle with all the indications of a total electrical system failure. I called for your help after checking all the fuses and circuit breakers and testing the battery with a meter, which indicated 12 volts. The lady who answered the phone suggested that I try to jump start the bike. I explained what I had already done and with a rather superior male attitude added that I didn't think it was the battery. She said she would dispatch a tow and again suggested a jump start. When the tow arrived, the driver, another mechanic who had come upon the scene and I discussed our options. I told them that a lady suggested a jump start. We agreed that the problem was not the battery but we decided to try it anyway. After all, what did we have to lose? As you probably guessed the motorcycle started. The only thing more embarrassing was my wife rolling around the parking lot laughing at us saying, "you fools, you should have listened to the woman in the first place." After replacing the battery we were on our way.

If ever again I have the need to call upon your service and the lady suggests anything, even if she tells me to strip naked and swing a dead albatross over my head, I promise I will do it and I expect my wife will ensure the promise is kept.

Thanks again for being there.

I never ride without MTS. I have been a member of MTS for about 6 years and have used the service several times. Whenever I leave for a trip, I always check to make sure that I have my MTS membership with me. MTS is the daddy of all these motorcycle towing services.

Beau Allen Picacho - Editor, Big Twin Magazine
I have been a member of MTS since 1992 and they have helped me a few times when I was testing bikes. I will never be without my MTS membership, simply because I don't want to be riding alone. MTS is the expert on helping motorcycle riders and the only company I would trust with my motorcycle.

RIDE WITH MTS AND YOU'LL NEVER RIDE ALONE AGAIN!
